Happy 120th Birthday Celebration! Several guests, celebrating the Suffragette Movement, and enjoying lunch and cake together!
We were the first service club established (1900) in Nampa Idaho and are celebrating 120 years of education and community service. We started the Carnegie Library in 1908, added other projects through the years like the Rose Garden at Lakeview Park and organizing the Red Cross Chapter. Today we hold a Student Art and Poetry Contest, support annual Senior Scholarships, Nampa Library, Veterans, and Domestic Violence prevention. Our motto is “The Greatest Good for the Greatest Number” And our President’s theme for 2018-2020 is “Service to others - Promote Education- Build Our Community” . Members of the American Home Dept. helped serve lunch at the Nampa Lighthouse Mission on January 20.
It was a pleasure and we gained a new member, Kathy pictured in blue!
Here we are at Fred Meyer ringing before Christmas.
Our International Outreach club project is the Shoe That Grows, from Because International. Shoes are provided to children around the world and are made locally in Nampa. Kenton Lee is being presented a check for donations made by GFWC for $2246 or 115 pairs of shoes.
